Steeped In Justice TEACH-IN
We’re gathering in a moment of deep crisis and growing control — when people’s rights, safety, and dignity are being stripped away through cuts to healthcare, food assistance, and immigrant protections. What’s happening elsewhere could happen here, too, if we stay silent. But Massachusetts has the power to choose a different path. Our state leaders can act — if we make them. This teach-in will ground us in what’s unfolding, what’s at stake, and how we organize together to defend and protect our communities. To learn more about this campaign work, click here.

MCAN TOWN HALL on The One Big Beautiful Bill
This summer, Congress passed what they called the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” But for our communities, there is nothing beautiful about it. If funded, it will harm our people and deepen the struggles so many already face. This bill cuts nearly $1.4 trillion dollars of current federal spending over the next ten years and will impact the Commonwealth in critical ways some of which are detailed below. AND simultaneously, among other line items, it increases the budgets of ICE and Customs & Border Protection. Massachusetts, like many states, has seen a tripling of immigration arrests already in 2025 compared to prior years, with most arrested not convicted criminals. With the budget increases, we will only see more. TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE IMPACT OF THIS BILL NATIONALLY AND IN MASSACHUSETTS, CLICK HERE.
Register here for our MCAN Town Hall Sunday at 7pm on Zoom to learn what’s at stake and how you can take action. Together, we’ll prepare, joining thousands across the country connected to our national organization Faith in Action, to push back against this harmful federal budget. This isn’t just action for action’s sake. There is a real chance we can have impact. Join us.
