WHY PARTNER WITH MCAN

Massachusetts Communities Action Network (MCAN) is a statewide, faith-rooted organizing network building people power for justice, dignity, and democracy across the Commonwealth.

Across traditions, we are grounded in the shared truth that we are accountable to one another, and justice requires organized, collective action.

FAQ

  • Because justice requires participation. Our faith and values call us not just to believe, but to act together.

  • No. MCAN welcomes and encourages individuals who are values-aligned, whether or not they are connected to a faith institution.

  • Yes and No. Individuals who are members of faith institutions have access to membership. However, we encourage individuals to join directly. This ensures everyone participates by choice and is supported as a leader in their own right. 

  • You can join MCAN directly at the statewide level and participate fully. When a regional affiliate forms, you’ll be invited to connect.tem description

  • IYou’ll be considered a Supporter during that time. You are always welcome to re-engage and return to Active Member status.tem description

  • Accountability is an expression of care. It helps us trust one another and build real power together.

  • No. Financial support is invited and encouraged to support the work, not required. Participation is what makes someone a member.

  • Because leadership in MCAN is about taking responsibility for leading others — not holding a title.
