PREPARATION & PRAYER AT THE PAULIST CENTER

Faith leaders from across the state gathered just down the hill from the State House at The Paulist Center where they built relationships discovered shared self-interest, signed individual valentines for elected officials and large format cards for the Governor, as well as the Speaker of the House and Senate President. They closed out in prayer and song before heading up the hill.

THE MOVEMENT CONTINUES TO BUILD

From the convening in the State House to filing into the Governor’s office, each leader had a part to play including the delivery of hundreds of postcards from across the state in support of the Governor’s taking even greater and bolder public action up to that time.

CHAMBER LEADERSHIP WAS SHOWN LOVE AND ENCOURAGEMENT TOO

Following valentine delivery to the Govenor’s office, faith leaders visited the office of House and Senate leadership, as seen here in Sen. Spilka’s office meeting with staff. While our campaign’s emphasis has been on bold, public executive action, we also included our senators and representatives to work swiftly. While both chambers have now based their respective versions of The Protect Act, they now have until January 1, 2027 to pass a joint bill.
